AWS Summit São Paulo
Last week happened in São Paulo, the first in-person edition of AWS Summit after the pandemic has hit is back in 2020. I was invited by a friend, Ana Cunha, to be a speaker in the DevLounge stage. I was more than happy to go to my first in-person event since December 2019.
When Ana invited me, the impostor syndrome hit me, and I started to wonder: why me? Ana said that I was invited because of my work within the AWS Community since my participation in the AWS Community Day back in November 2021. It took me a while to get my “shit together” and realize that even when I think that I don't do much, I actually do. Because you only need to have courage to go out there and share what you know. It is that simple indeed.
I choose to discuss a project called Toil Tools, that I've made in my current job at Pagar.me, that sponsored me to go to the event, a project that uses Lambda and Step Functions to process some CSV files. I talked what were the pain points of my team because of the previous process that were totally cumbersome, and what we gained with the development of Toil Tools.
Likewise, I also realized that this was the first time that I've presented a project that I've made in work. Previously, I always talked about tools like Terraform or GitLab. And in the end I was proud and happy.
I was also happy to see my friends. To see the smile in their faces and hug them again, the crowd watching me talk and paying attention to every word that I've said, and also meeting new people! And I think that the excitement for the in-person was in the air during the event because everyone was eager to get the most of the AWS Summit.
See you in the next event!
That's all folks!
